When Is the Oral Exam?
The 2026 oral exams will take place:
- Period: Late March to mid-April 2026
- Exact date: Set by your school within the examination window
- Notification: Schools typically give 1-2 weeks notice
Oral Exam Format
The exam lasts 12-15 minutes and includes:
Section A: Picture Sequences (5 minutes)
- You receive a series of pictures telling a story
- Describe what you see and narrate the events
- Examiner may ask follow-up questions
Section B: Role Play (3-4 minutes)
- Given a scenario to act out
- Common scenarios: shopping, travel, making plans, dealing with problems
- Must communicate required information
Section C: General Conversation (5-6 minutes)
